Lauren Marlow, a founding partner at Kwartin, Levine & Marlow, LLP, utilizes her experience and resourcefulness to provide practical legal solutions to businesses at all stages of development as well as to guide individuals and families through the estate planning and asset protection planning process. Lauren works with small to mid-sized businesses, family-owned businesses, as well as individuals who are “making the leap” with their new business ventures. In addition, Lauren assists new and growing families put the proper planning in place so that they and their loved ones are better prepared when the unexpected arises, she also assists families navigate the complex process of probate in the event of the death of a loved one.

As an additional part of her planning services, Lauren assists gun owners with the set-up and implementation of a “firearms plan”, which ensures that the use, access and ownership of firearms complies with applicable local, state and federal laws. Through these planning activities, Lauren helps her clients to minimize their potential exposure to liability and also to feel confident that their collections will pass to heirs in a legal and responsible way. Lauren’s firearms practice also includes the establishment of NFA Gun Trusts for those clients who wish to own and purchase Title II regulated firearms.

Prior to forming KLM, Lauren was a partner of the firm’s predecessors, Manning, Levine & Marlow (from 2012- 2015) and Koufman, Levine & Greiner, LLP (from 2015-2017).  She previously served as General Counsel for PCF Saleco, LLC, a convenience retail and fuel company located in Littleton, Colorado (from 2009 – 2011). As general counsel for PCF Saleco, LLC, a company with 78 convenience stores and gas stations, Lauren advised her company on a variety of business matters, including compliance and governance, standard business contract issues, restrictive covenants with key employees and issues arising in connection with business operations. In addition, Lauren led several M&A transactions for the company and managed all major disputes with employees, customers and vendors. This experience provided Lauren with an understanding of business operations and the myriad of challenges faced by the owners and managers.

Before joining the PCF team, Lauren was an attorney with the Denver office of Dorsey & Whitney, LLP, a large, full-service law firm based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At Dorsey, Lauren’s practice focused primarily on corporate issues, public company reporting, and mid- to large-scale M&A transactions.

Lauren received her Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law, in 2007 and her Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M.) from the University of Denver, Graduate Tax Program, in 2009.   She earned her B.A. in International Relations at Boston University in 2003 and spent a post-graduate year in Munich, Germany studying the German language at the Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München.  Lauren returned to the United States in 2004 to attend law school in Denver, Colorado, where she developed a strong affinity for the outdoors and living an active lifestyle.
